Accommodation in south Iceland
We offer accommodation in south Iceland in small cottages, private bedrooms, shared cabin dorms and camping grounds. You can choose between sleeping bag accommodation or made up beds for extra comfort. The LavaSPA has a sauna, showers, natural hot pool and sunbathing facilities.

Þórsmörk private rooms
The Eyjafjallajökull Cabin has fourteen double/single rooms with shared toilets in the hall of the building. The rooms are small but comfortable and are rented for sleeping bag accommodation but made up beds can be added for extra comfort. Sauna, showers, natural hot pool and sunbathing facilities are accessible in the LavaSPA.
Cottage
Þórsmörk cottages
Our cottages are a perfect choice for families, couples and groups that want a bit of comfort and privacy. Each cottage houses up to 5 persons with two bunk beds, one of which has a double lower bed for couples. The cottages are rented as a sleeping bag accommodation but linin and made up beds can be ordered for extra comfort. The cottages are fitted with a small kitchenette, tableware, a kitchen table and chairs. Each house has electric lighting, heating and running water. Toilets are located a short distance away in our main service building. Sauna, showers, natural hot pool and sunbathing facilities are accessible in the LavaSPA.
Merkursel
Þórsmörk mountain hut accommodation
Our two mountain huts provide a cozy and friendly hostel-style atmosphere with bunk beds and a sleeping loft. The cabins have separated rooms that sleep from 2 to 16 persons. Each cabin has running water and is fitted with cooking facilities and table wear for up to 35 persons. Toilets are in both cabins. Both cabins can be rented out for groups for a fixed price. Sauna, showers, natural hot pool and sunbathing facilities are accessible in the LavaSPA.
Camping Site
Þórsmörk camping ground
The camping site in Húsadalur offers spacious grounds, breathtaking views and outdoors cooking facilities. Sauna, showers, natural hot pool and sunbathing facilities are accessible in the LavaSPA.
Price per person in camping ground ISK 1.600 including access to the showers, sauna and warm pool at the LavaSpa. The camping site is open from 1st of May until the 31st of October For individuals there is no need to reserve, for groups please send us an email.
Laugavegur
Laugavegur Hiking-trail accommodation
The Laugavegur hiking trail stretches 55 kilometres across the southern Icelandic highlands and connects the two nature reserves, Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk. The trail offers a beautiful variety of volcanic landscapes, with scenery over mountains in every colour of the rainbow, great glaciers, roaring hot springs, big rivers and lakes.
Most people cross the Laugavegur Hiking trail in 3 – 5 days, starting in Landmannalaugar and ending their trip in Þórsmork. Shorter options are available as well.
Accommodation is offered in six mountain huts and camping grounds along the trail and can be booked here on our website.
The Volcano Huts are only accessible by a mountain bus that goes to and from Þórsmork from Reykjavik from May 2nd to October 31st. You can hop on or off the bus at various locations along the way.
